I remember hearing about Randy Pausch either from Oprah or a on the news. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and told he had maybe 6 months to live. His farewell lecture was given to a standing ovation. Even with his last lecture he was still able to inspire not only his students but many ordinary people who have been able to see his lecture on the internet.
